Here's a classic HB cartoon featuring two great voice men: Daws Butler and Don Messick.
Enjoy:

Corey, do you know if the voices were sped up slightly or just another example of both men's range?
Thank you. |

"I love those meeces to pieces yuck yuck yuck"
I particularly loved how Daws raised Jinks' voice when he shrunk- BRILLIANCE!
Though you may or may not know, but did Daws do the "gulp" SFX's? the one after he drinks the formula was cute.
Quick notes on the credit "Dialogue," Charles Shows worked at Disney for years, he was mostly relegated to drama and nature films until Walt had asked him "Why don't you write any comedy?"
It turned out that Shows agent was blocking his comedy scripts, because he felt Walt didn't want that. Turns out Shows was a very fine comedy writer. |

What you hear was exactly what they performed in the studio, as whole scene pieces. Music and prerecorded/library sound effects would have been added after the animation was assembled into a work-print.
And if I'm not mistaken, Charlie Shows was also a co-writer of "Time for Beany" with Daws and Stan Freberg, and went on to collaborate with both of them on a host of other projects, together and individually. Daws often spoke reverently of Mr. Shows' diverse talents as an unsung gag-writer and "script doctor" throughout that great creative era of TV and Record entertainment production. |
