In Disney’s ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE I’ve had the good fortune to create a voice for GAETAN MOLIERE (“MOLE”); an eccentric little French geologist who is absolutely obsessed with the intricacies of ‘all things Dirt’.

Brought to life by the brilliant animation of Tony De Rosa, much of his strange nature is left to the viewer’s imagination - on purpose, of course. Who knows what sort of weird circumstances brought him from his beloved Paris to join up as a mercenary adventurer to find the Lost Empire? Who would really want to know? Fehh!

The voice - as framed by directors Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale - embodies a lot of the character of a ‘sinister and creepy’ Peter Lorre, combined with the impish enthusiasm of Fantasy Island’s “Tatoo”. Within those parameters, I try to incorporate all the little comedic vocal tricks I’ve picked up from the old-timers over the years.

Yes, he IS disgusting, but hopefully in an endearing way. Hey, I like him. And I hope you all enjoy seeing ATLANTIS. (It’s even better the second time!)

Cheers -
CB
